To help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all guests, we kindly ask that you read the following terms and conditions before joining one of our tours.

By completing your booking, you acknowledge and agree to these terms. They are designed not only to protect both our guests and Discover Nara, but also to help preserve the historic and cultural sites that make this region so special.

Injuries and Medical Assistance

While we make every effort to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, travel always involves some level of personal risk, particularly when visiting historical sites with uneven paths, stone steps, gravel, or natural terrain.

If a guest becomes ill or is injured during the tour, our guide will provide reasonable assistance, including helping arrange transportation or contacting local medical services when necessary.

Medical Expenses

Any medical expenses, transportation costs, or other expenses arising from illness or injury during the tour are the sole responsibility of the guest.

Discover Nara is unable to provide financial compensation for such expenses.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before traveling to Japan.

Travel insurance may help cover unexpected medical expenses, trip interruptions, cancellations, or other unforeseen situations, allowing you to travel with greater peace of mind.

Personal Responsibility

Guests are responsible for their own health and personal safety throughout the tour.

Please remain aware of your surroundings, use appropriate footwear, exercise caution on uneven surfaces, and follow all instructions provided by your guide.

If you have any medical conditions or physical concerns that may affect your participation, please let us know before booking.

Respect for Historic Sites

Many of the places we visit are important cultural properties, religious sites, and archaeological remains that have been preserved for centuries.

Guests are expected to respect local customs, site regulations, and the instructions of temple staff, shrine staff, museum personnel, and your guide at all times.

Prohibited Conduct

For the safety of all participants and the protection of historical sites, the following are not permitted during the tour:

• Illegal drugs or prohibited substances

• Participation while intoxicated

• Dangerous or disruptive behavior

• Entering restricted areas

• Ignoring guide instructions or site regulations

• Actions that may damage cultural property or disturb other visitors

Guests who engage in such behavior may be asked to leave the tour without a refund.

Limitation of Liability

Discover Nara is not responsible for injuries, accidents, losses, delays, or damages resulting from:

• Personal negligence

• Failure to follow guide instructions

• Violation of site regulations

• Weather conditions

• Natural disasters

• Traffic conditions

• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, our guide will take reasonable steps to assist guests and contact local emergency services when appropriate.

Guests are responsible for following emergency instructions provided by local authorities and tour staff.

Refunds

Refunds are subject to our Booking, Deposit, and Cancellation Policy.

No refunds will be issued for guests who voluntarily leave the tour, fail to arrive at the meeting point, or are removed from the tour for violating these Terms & Conditions.

Agreement

By making a reservation with Discover Nara, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
