Created on land once associated with Manishu-in, a former sub-temple of Kofuku-ji, Yoshikien Garden is a peaceful Japanese garden located beside the Yoshikigawa River, just a short walk from Nara Park. The present garden was developed in the early 20th century and is now open to the public as a place to appreciate the beauty of traditional Japanese landscape design.

The garden is divided into three distinct sections: a pond garden, a moss garden, and a tea garden designed for cultivating flowers used in the tea ceremony. A traditional tea house stands within the moss garden, while Mount Kasuga and Mount Wakakusa provide a beautiful natural backdrop, adding a sense of openness and harmony to the garden.
