Opened in 2017 by a seasoned expert with over 20 years in the pottery industry, the store is a celebration of craftsmanship, artistry, and everyday elegance.

Midoriya showcases a curated selection of handmade pottery from local and regional artists, including pieces featuring crystalline glaze (kessho-yu)—a rare and mesmerizing technique where zinc crystals bloom across the surface during firing, creating patterns as unique as snowflakes. From celadon and iron-glazed bowls to Nambu ironware, cutlery, and Shirayuki fukin cloths, every item is chosen to enrich daily life with beauty and function.

The shop’s philosophy is rooted in the idea of growing together with artists, like the lush greenery of Mt. Wakakusa, and this spirit is reflected in the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
