Scenic Beauty in Nara

Once the villa garden of the Yamaguchi family, prominent figures in Osaka's business community during the Meiji and Taisho periods, Yugayama Enchi Garden is a peaceful landscaped area on the southern edge of Nara Park. Covering approximately 1.3 hectares, it lies beside Sagi Pond and Ukimi-do Pavilion, forming part of one of the park's most tranquil landscapes.

In 1927, the garden was incorporated into the nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, Nara Park, in recognition of the harmonious landscape created by Yugayama, Sagi Pond, and the surrounding natural scenery.

The garden also has a long association with cultural activities, having welcomed painters, tea practitioners, and other cultural figures over the years. A reconstructed tea house preserves this aspect of its history and adds to the garden's quiet atmosphere.

For visitors, Yugayama Enchi Garden offers a peaceful opportunity to appreciate the scenic beauty, cultural history, and garden traditions of Nara Park.
